El Silencio "Espadín" is double distilled in copper stills by our Master Mescalier Pedro Hernandez.

San Luis Amatlan is a small town located in the southern part of the state of Oaxaca. It lies within a mountainous region approximately 1500 meters above sea level.
Named after St. Louis and known as the place of the amates (a type of bark paper found in the region), it is known for it's abundant timber resources.
We have added the region of Amatlan for sourcing our Espadin agaves which is now included in our latest run distinguished by a black medal logo sticker.
While the formula is still 100% espadin, the different terroir results in a variation in tasting notes,such as pronounced minerality
(Similar to the variations you'd find in new vintages of wine).
